ABSTRACT

Model-based testing (MBT) is a major change, and probably qualifies as true paradigm shift, at least if the implementation in an organization is done correctly. In many ways, organizational change is similar to human change. The MBT surveys provide a variety of reasons about why an organization might want to adopt MBT. Process change is easier in an organization with defined software process, probably at CMMI level 3 or higher. The more important point is that all three vertices of the iron triangle are attainable with MBT. This is supported by 2014 MBT survey. In the process of technology change, usually one person is particularly passionate about the new technology. This person/role has become known as the "Technology Champion". The pilot MBT project is a critical step—if the example is too difficult, the result can be an undeserved failure; if it is too simple, it will not be persuasive to both the management and the technical sides of the organization.
