ABSTRACT
We now turn our attention to a system of nonlinear equations. The topic’s history is again related to Newton; several aspects of it were researched by him, although not formally published. In fact most solutions were based on his work until various flavors of a more efficient approach were proposed by the quartet of Broyden [1], Fletcher [2], Goldfarb [3] and Shanno [5] in 1970.
