ABSTRACT
Initial value problems are an important subject of engineering. Many of these problems arise from modeling various physical phenomena, but considerably fewer of them may be solvable analytically, hence the intense interest in approximate solutions. Historical names such as Euler and Taylor are associated with the subject and their classical methods will be discussed in detail.
