ABSTRACT

The spray inoculation method is generally used for determining the pathogenicity of bacterial blossom blight, wild fire of apple and pear, and inflorescence diseases of bacterial pathogen or bacterial fruit spot diseases. The method is probably the most natural way of inoculating bacterial pathogens that produce vascular wilts. When testing a bacterial culture for pathogenicity, it is important that the same plant species and cultivar from which the bacterial culture is isolated is used. The method is generally used for determining the pathogenicity of leaf spot and leaf blight bacterial pathogens. The method produces pathogenicity symptoms within a short period of time as compared with other inoculation methods for producing leaf spot diseases. The swab inoculation method is generally used for determining the pathogenicity of leaf spot and leaf blight bacterial pathogens. The method is more appropriate for the inoculation of leaves that have leaf hairs or trichomes on the plant surface.
