ABSTRACT
How the assessment of pilots is conducted—and ultimately debriefing for the purpose of learning (professional development)—depends on the (implicit or explicit) models used to understand cognition and performance. All cognitive models can be categorized according to the unit of analysis that is taken for understanding cognitive events.
