ABSTRACT

Change proposals in hazardous operations-organizations, shall follow safety change management principles that build on business process redesign principles applied on its value chain (e.g., Harmon, 2014). As the change can have safety implications in direct (e.g., assets/plant floor activities,) or indirect pathways (management system and its aspects), it is obviously important to systematically identify and manage effects of the change within organization. This means that various management levels can be affected by changes. Illustration of the scoping of the management levels, from top to bottom, applied to potential changes and potential management aspects is presented in Figure 1.
