ABSTRACT
For developing an oil spill response assessment model for winter conditions, appropriate accident scenarios need to be defined. Assessing the consequences of these scenarios in terms of hull damages, oil outflow and oil propagation in the sea area leads to an improved understanding of oil spill risks, which is useful for response preparedness planning (IMO 2010).
