ABSTRACT

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) represent an important group of nanomaterials with attractive geometrical, electronic and chemical properties (Kim & Lieber, 1999; Spinks et al., 2002). Since the discovery of CNTs in 1991 (Goyal et al., 2011), considerable efforts have been made to study the application of this new material (Gong et al., 2004; Yuehe Lin et al., 2003; Liu & Lin, 2006; Musameh et al., 2002; Wang et al., 2002; Zhao et al., 2005) but its insolubility in most solvents restrained its application in electroanalysis (Carreño-Gómez & Duncan, 1997). Recently, chitosan (CS) has been reported to disperse functionalized CNTs in aqueous solution with higher efficiency than the organic solvents (Tkac et al., 2007; Zhang et al., 2004).
