Any observed environmental variation leads an open-loop system to a decrease in its output accuracy. On the contrary, a closed-loop system detects variations during its operation and corrects by itself the errors generated at the output. The sensitivity of a system to parameter variations is of special importance. Equally important is the ability to reduce the sensitivity of a closed-loop control system to parameter variations.
