Slow and Fast Light Propagation in Narrow Band Raman-Assisted Fiber Parametric Amplifiers

Optical parametric amplification (OPA), employing optical fibers, is a well-known nonlinear process that has been explored extensively for the past few decades [1-6]. A conventional fiber OPA relies on a pump propagating in the anomalous dispersion regime that yields a broad band gain spectrum which is symmetric around the pump wavelength.
