1.4 Surface treatment Surface treatment is usually used to improve the characteristics of as-fired phosphors for practical application. Particularly for zinc sulfide phosphors, surface coating is indispensable. In spite of the importance of this treatment, few research reports on surface treatment have been published and only a part of the knowledge has been disclosed in patents.
