ABSTRACT

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) process safety management (PSM) regulation, 29 CFR 19 10.1 19, requires companies to update or revalidate their Process Hazards Analyses (PHAs) at least every 5 years. In addition, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) risk management program rule, 40 CFR Part 68, requires companies to perform quantitative off-site consequence analysis. Consequently, many facilities are attempting to establish an effective revalidation strategy to incorporate both OSHA and EPA reauirements.
