ABSTRACT
In this chapter, techniques for generating synthetic fingerprints are introduced. There are several motivations for developing techniques for synthetic fingerprint design, in particular, improving testing of fingerprint systems, enhancing the security of a database of fingerprints, building training systems, and watermarking algorithms.
