ABSTRACT
The AC induction motor is used more than any other means to power industrial equipment. This is confirmed by the U.S. Department of Energy report on electric motors, which states that 53-58% of the electric energy generated is consumed by electric motors (see Table 5.1). Because there are so many applications, it is impossible to develop a list or guide for all the applications of AC induction motors.
