ABSTRACT
Damage from outages is not limited to the equipment owned by the electrical utility. Many heavy industrial plants such as pulp and paper, petrochemical, and car manufacturers employ processes that are sensitive to interruptions and may result in signi™cant time and money to reestablish production. e proliferation of computers, programmable logic controllers, and other electrically sensitive devices in the workplace is also a reliability concern.
