ABSTRACT
Although these load classes are commonly used, they are oµen inadequately deŸned for certain types of power system studies. For example, some utilities meter apartments as individual residential customers, while others meter the entire apartment complex as a commercial customer. us, the common classiŸcations overlap in the sense that characteristics of customers in one class are not unique to that class. For this reason some utilities deŸne further subdivisions of the common classes.
