ABSTRACT
Ceramic membranes are widely used for various applications due to their resistance to harsh chemical and mechanical stresses. These traits are important for the fast growth and development of ceramic membranes on the industrial level. Therefore, ceramic membranes provide a great substitute for polymeric membranes. In this chapter, various applications of ceramic membranes are explained along with the merits and demerits of ceramic membranes over polymeric membranes. The use of ceramic membranes for a wide variety of applications made them important in defining the fate of various products. The chapter discusses in detail the specific properties of ceramic membranes required for a particular application and how they are better than other conventional processes and techniques.
