ABSTRACT

The transition from product-focused and internally oriented company to a platform-focused and ecosystem-oriented company requires far more than a few changes to the innovation strategies or engaging with the open-source software community. In fact, this transition requires a fundamental revision of the basic idea behind or philosophy of the company. Although there are a multitude of implications associated with the transition to an ecosystemoriented company, there are three ways in which this expresses itself in a particularly fundamental fashion.
