ABSTRACT
There are three focus areas that will define the nature of large-scale software and systems engineering in the coming decade and likely beyond. The focus areas are speed, data and ecosystems and the three dimensions of the Stairway to Heaven presented in earlier parts in this book have discussed each of these focus areas in detail. Each part provides tools and frameworks for addressing the respective dimension. Although we have largely presented these focus areas as orthogonal dimensions, the fact is that many connections exist between these and that they can not be treated as independent.
