ABSTRACT

A civil engineering development project involves a number of phases and stages in its design timeline. At the initial concept phase, a client briefs a designer on an overall need, assesses whether the construction of an asset is feasible and confirms a project’s maximum budget. An outline proposal and scheme design then allows final development of the brief. Full design, materials specification and construction methodology review commences, necessitating the preparation of a project timeline and a schedule of when the various on-site tasks might be expected to start and end.
