ABSTRACT
In this chapter, various classical (pole) approaches to the MFL from surface breaking flaws are discussed. Although this approach often results in unwieldy mathematical relations, once they have been derived, it is relatively simple to use a computer to determine the approximate response of a sensor to such fields.
