ABSTRACT
Spillways are an extremely important feature of any dam project. Because of the great variety of site conditions, both with regard to the spillway itself and to the tailwater, it is generally necessary to have recourse to hydraulic model tests (see Ch. 11, Sect. 11.4.3) in order to ensure that the best possible design is provided.
