ABSTRACT
Introduction: Mathematics is a discipline which, like most disciplines, deals with
ideas which are expressed in sentences. In the English language, sentences can be imprecise or even ambiguous. In fact, it is not unusual to be able to interpret a sentence in more than one way. This is perfectly acceptable or even desirable for casual conversation, but it is totally unacceptable in mathematics or in any serious discussion.
