ABSTRACT
1) Consider a piece of debris in a circular orbit at 400 km altitude. Show that the new orbit which results from imparting an outward radial component of velocity to the junk has a perigee at an altitude of less than 400 km. Hint: Is there any change in the angular momentum of the junk?
