Tethered satellites

In this question we look at some more advantages of the tethering of orbiting bodies (see question 3). The centre of mass of the combined Shuttle and tethered satellite lies between them so the satellite goes too fast for a Kepler orbit at its radial distance and the Shuttle too slowly. This gives the Shuttle a small amount of 'gravity'.
