ABSTRACT
Perhaps 15, 18 or 20 billion years ago, our universe started with a ‘Big Bang’. Details are very uncertain and, anyway, nobody knows the details for sure. But, however it started, the universe has been expanding for a very long time, initially an enlarging cloud of gas consisting of elementary particles cooling down as expansion proceeded.
