ABSTRACT

This chapter considers as an introduction to vector analysis with applications in main to mechanics. Computer implementation of vector analysis is widely used. In order to give constructive representations of the objects of vector analysis dependence of vector equations on the basis. The definition of the angle supposes that the angle begins from the vector an ends on the vector b, hence it has the sign. This is a preliminary definition which does not take into account that force is expressed by a vector. The moment of force about a point has the following vector interpretation. Vectors are not invariant under changes of coordinates. In order to visualize the field, the quiver operator was used. It plots vectors with components at the points. The vectors are normalized. In order to add new plots to the current figure, instead of replacing the existing plots, activate the hold option.
