ABSTRACT
Imagine that you have been tasked with responding to a sexual assault call. Upon your arrival, the 22-year-old female victim reports having awoken to find an unknown male climbing through her bedroom window. Following a brief physical altercation, the perpetrator pinned her to the floor, held a knife to her throat, and forcibly raped her. The victim has several fresh cuts and bruises consistent with a violent sexual assault; she is crying and appears visibly traumatized.
