ABSTRACT
Predicting the future world situation in the coming 30 to 40 years is always hazardous. The development of society from now to 2050 will, for sure, be as revolutionary as we can expect it to be. However, we can get an idea of the development in 2050 if we look at history 30 or 40 years back in time. The change in society and how technological improvements will affect us highlight a key problem: It is difficult to 98 imagine the future. What we can do, however, is make the best of it and try to adapt to future developments (Fig. 9.1).
