ABSTRACT
In Chapter 3 we looked at the description of current in classical
electrodynamics and circuit theory. In this chapter the quantum
physics approach is discussed. Such an approach is necessary
because for microscopic device dimensions the classical theory does
not correctly describe reality. Current will be discussed in the case of
both macroscopic and microscopic device dimensions.
