ABSTRACT

This chapter provides an overview of the area of bacterial foraging as it forms the biological foundation. It focuses on enhanced optimal solution using a hybrid approach consisting of bacterial foraging (BA) and genetic algorithm (GA). The chapter analysis of the proposed hybrid systems by simulating using various test functions. It illustrates the characteristics of the proposed hybrid genetic algorithms-bacteria foraging GA-BF and its relation to the conventional simple genetic algorithm, using the test function from De Jong. A recent survey of evolutionary algorithms for the evaluation of improved learning algorithms applied to control system engineering problems can be found in. The general problem of evolutionary algorithm-based engineering system design has been tackled in various ways. GA has also been used to optimize nonlinear system strategies. Among them, a large amount of research is focused on the design of fuzzy controllers using evolutionary algorithm approaches.
