ABSTRACT

The 39th annual report (for the year ended 31 March 1946) began:

In looking back over the past year the outstanding event has been the end of the war. Manson House stands secure. It was never closed down in spite of many nearby hazards. Permanent repair of blast damage is now taking the place of temporary work carried out during the emergencies of the last five years. Well-attended meetings are again being held in the evenings (instead of afternoons) and the last four have been preceded by an informal dinner for Fellows. This has proved a popular innovation, affording those on leave an opportunity of meeting Fellows at home.
