The officers from any one regiment include one of each of six ranks (a colonel, a lieutenant-colonel, a major, a captain, a lieutenant, and a sub-lieutenant). They wish to parade in a square formation, so that every row and every column contains one member of each regiment and one officer of each rank. Is this possible?”
