ABSTRACT

In the textile industry, merchandisers have a predominantly significant role owing to the exhaustive nature of product range. The practice of buying and selling materials and services is called merchandising. Merchandising activity coordinates different departments in the garment industry. It develops a valuable relationship with the buyers. It builds an excellent relationship with the buying houses and the merchandiser concentrates on queries, order processing and assessment of apparel products. All these aspects make the merchandising activity an important role in the garment industry (Kunz 2005).
