ABSTRACT
When a circular mass that is at rest is rotated, it gains kinetic energy. Slowing the mass down or bringing it to rest is achieved by removing kinetic energy from the mass. A rotating mass that is designed to store kinetic energy as a result of its rotational motion is called a flywheel.
