ABSTRACT
Engineering seals in mechanical engineering is of primary importance in preventing the loss of hydraulic fluid from a fluid pressure system, preventing the ingress of foreign particles entering bearing systems and slideways. This chapter will demonstrate the more important aspects of sealing between contacting surfaces.
