ABSTRACT
I have also testified in state and local court on numerous occasions; however, for purpose of this publication, I will concentrate on the federal court.
I am focusing on the federal court system for two reasons; the first and the most important is the RICO and VICAR statutes are prosecuted in federal court. Second, if you have a task force with state and local police departments, it is unlikely they have brought their cases through the federal court system or testified in federal court. They will need training and guidance upfront to alleviate frustration on their part and on the part of the assigned AUSA.
