ABSTRACT

As we have learned in the previous chapter, gravity mediation, in general, would produce flavour dependent soft SUSY breaking terms. Therefore, the gravity mediation mechanism is severely constrained by the experimental limits on FCNC processes. In this chapter, we will consider an alternative mechanism of SUSY breaking at lower energy scales in which gauge interactions are the ’messengers’ of SUSY breaking, as depicted in Fig. 17.1. As gauge interactions are flavour blind, squark and slepton masses are universal. This could be a natural solution to the SUSY flavour problem [429].
