ABSTRACT
Chapter 6 described the energy density of the Universe, and its dependence on the scale factor. Chapter 7 described thermal equilibrium, and the dependence of the temperature on the scale factor. Now we need to see how the scale factor depends on the age of the Universe. For that purpose, we need the Friedmann equation, which was derived by Alexander Friedmann in 1922.
