ABSTRACT
One of the key issues in measurement-based network control is to predict trafc in the next control time interval based on the online measurements of trafc characteristics. The goal is to forecast future trafc variations as precisely as possible, based on the measured trafc history. Trafc prediction requires accurate trafc models that can capture the statistical characteristics of the actual trafc. Inaccurate models may overestimate or underestimate the network trafc.
