ABSTRACT
The term industrial in industrial ecology refers to all human activities occurring within modern technological society. Tourism, housing, medical services, transportation, agriculture, and so on, are all considered part of industrial systems in addition to what is traditionally considered industrial activities that produce goods and products (O’Rourke et al. 1996).
