ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a narrative response to directly answer a question how the factors identified relate to vulnerability and consequence. From the identified insider threat factors, not all vulnerabilities nor their associated consequences will be completely known. Primary examples of factors that relate to vulnerability and consequence are: all factors of insider threat relate to vulnerability and consequence, consequences are complex and have different levels of impact, problematic linkages with process and consequences, mitigation considerations, and resilience factors. All insider threat factors, including unintended insider threat factors are related in some way to risk, vulnerability, and consequence. One of the problematic linkages with process is that within a business or organization, the processes are absent and/or they are not set up properly in order to discover or identify vulnerabilities, report them, and properly fix them through patches or configurations. It creates the interconnected figure to depict the cyber-physical digital-analog bilingualism competency.
