ABSTRACT

What is living? Living is an active verb. It is something we all do each and every day, and each of us does it in a different way. Whether we live in the middle of a town, in a penthouse, in a cottage on the countryside, or in a college dorm, we live. Whether we are young or old, vital or not, venturous or subdued, we live. The way we live differs quite a lot. It is the result of an interaction between personal characteristics, environmental factors, and the activities we perform. We (try to) live in our own environment: our house. As a result of our own desires and possibilities, our houses are situated on different spots and differ in characteristics. The house chosen meets the resulting sum of our desires to change our house into a home. First of all, we want our home to be a safe and secure place to shelter, which we are able to share, which we choose to share, and to which we may give access. Our house is the starting point of our activities. This influences the filling of the space in the house. An international active athlete lives from a trunk that contains all the needed belongings, and a person raising children lives in a family house. Once we attempt to perform
