ABSTRACT

Observing many companies in action, I am unable to point to a single instance in which stunning results were gotten without the active and personal leadership of the upper managers.

A project charter is a definition of the project that includes the following:

• Problem statement • Overview of scope, participants, goals, and requirements • Provides authorization of a new project • Identifies roles and responsibilities

Once the project charter is approved, it should not be changed. A project charter begins with the project name, the department of focus,

the focus area, and the product or process. A project charter serves as the focus point throughout the project to ensure that the project is on track and that the proper people are participating and are being held accountable.
