ABSTRACT

While academics have written extensively about policing in the United States, policing in the England and Wales has also been of extensive research interest. The large amount of research conducted makes it difficult to establish whether the police forces in the United Kingdom have implemented more change management projects than those in New Zealand, Canada, the United States, and Australia. Since the mid-1980s, police forces in England and Wales have undergone significant change and have implemented a number of different management process and performance measurement frameworks, all in the name of increasing police service delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
