ABSTRACT
FMEA provides a deductive and structured approach to identify problems related to product design, manufacturing, service, and even use. In Chapter 5, I provided some rational why an early stage FMEA is an appropriate step in the design and development process. The product development roadmap as shown in Figure 11.1 indicates that once design details are completed a second more detailed set of FMEA les need to be developed.
