ABSTRACT

The purpose of a Technical Review meeting is to evaluate a particular design element by a group of technical experts, in order to identify pitfalls and/ or areas for improvement. Design engineers need to ensure that pertinent technical areas have been properly vetted in the course of design activities by considering the impact on various disciplines. Technical reviews are formal means to document that in-depth reviews by various pertinent stakeholders have taken place. In a gated product development process, technical reviews of design elements are needed prior to moving to the next stage of development.
