ABSTRACT

Over the last decades, the amount of available data in several fields, such economics, geosciences, or biomedicine, has dramatically increased. This large amount of information has led to the development of several computational methods to derive insights from these data. Among these methods, visualization has acquired high relevance due to the human ability to detect patterns and trends from data visualizations. In the previous chapters, the visualization techniques were focused on data associated with a spatial position. This

In chapter, we will focus on data that do not have an assigned spatial position. This field is known as information visualization.
