ABSTRACT

Mobile crowdsensing is a technology that allows large-scale, cost-effective sensing of the physical world. In mobile crowdsensing, people going about their daily business become “sensors.” Their mobile personal mobile devices such as smartphones or smart watches come equipped with a variety of sensors that can be leveraged to collect data related to environment, transportation, healthcare, safety and so on. This people-centric sensing is enabled by crowdsourcing techniques to create a large-scale, collective sensing environment. Together with static sensor networks and Internet of Things devices, mobile crowdsensing has the potential to make the vision of ubiquitous sensing a reality.
