ABSTRACT

The application of chlordecone, an organochlorine pesticide, on banana plantations in the French West Indies, has led to a chronic contamination of all environmental compartments: soil (Cabidoche et al. 2009; Levillain et al. 2012; Clostre et al. 2015a; Devault et  al. 2016), water (Gourcy et  al. 2009), plants (Cabidoche and LesueurJannoyer 2012; Clostre et al. 2015b), and marine wildlife (Coat et al. 2006, 2011).
